Health Score: Vital Score vs Fitness Age

Both apps condense your health data into a single number, but the approach is different.

Livity calculates a Fitness Age based on 8 metrics: VO2 Max, resting heart rate, HRV, sleep duration, daily steps, moderate activity, vigorous activity, and strength training. It tells you how old your body is compared to your chronological age.

Vita calculates a Vital Score (0-100) across 5 pillars: cardiovascular fitness, sleep quality, activity, body composition, and lifestyle. It also calculates a Body Age with a pace of aging trajectory, so you can see not just where you are but whether you're aging faster or slower than your chronological age. Livity shows fitness age but not the direction of change over time.

    Apple Intelligence: On-Device AI

This is the clearest technical difference between the two apps.

Vita uses Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device AI framework) to generate personalized workout analysis and health narratives. After each workout, AI reviews your performance, heart rate zones, and recovery context to give you specific, actionable feedback. All of this runs on your iPhone. Your data never leaves the device.

Livity offers monthly health recaps and AI-powered insights, but does not use Apple Intelligence. The app provides guided breathing exercises and circadian rhythm analysis, which are valuable in a different way but not the same as personalized AI analysis of your training data.

    Device Support

If you own a Garmin watch, this section may decide the comparison for you.

Livity supports both Apple Watch and Garmin devices. If you switch between watches or use Garmin for specific activities, Livity can pull data from both. This is a genuine advantage for multi-device users.

Vita is built exclusively for Apple Watch. This constraint allows deeper integration with Apple Health and the Apple ecosystem, including Apple Intelligence features that require Apple hardware. If your primary device is Apple Watch, this focused approach means a more polished experience.

    Missing Data Handling

Real life is messy. You forget to charge your watch, skip sleep tracking for a few nights, or travel without consistent data.

Vita was built to handle data gaps from day one. When signals are missing, the algorithm redistributes weights to the data you do have. Your Vital Score still works with a wider confidence interval.

Livity requires more consistent data for accurate readings. Its Fitness Age relies on 8 specific metrics. If several are missing, the calculation may not be as reliable.

    Community and Roadmap

Livity has a public roadmap where users vote on features. With 40K+ users and a growing community, this is a meaningful advantage for people who want to influence the app's direction.

Vita is built by a solo developer who uses the app daily and shapes the roadmap based on personal experience and user feedback. The development is fast and opinionated, focused on depth over breadth.

    Design and Experience

Livity uses a dark interface with blue accents. The design is data-forward and functional, with clear charts and metrics.

Vita uses a warm, minimal wellness aesthetic inspired by premium health brands. Warm whites, serif typography, and an organic orb visualization for the Vital Score. The design is intentionally calm, not aggressive.

    Unique to Each App

Apple Intelligence AI Analysis (Vita only)

After each workout, Apple Intelligence generates a personalized analysis reviewing your performance, zones, and recovery context. AI narratives for Body Age show your aging trajectory. All processing stays on your iPhone.

    Pace of Aging (Vita only)

Beyond a static body age number, Vita tracks your rate of biological aging over time. See whether your lifestyle changes are actually slowing down your aging process, with a clear directional trend.

    Garmin Support (Livity only)

Livity integrates with Garmin health-tracking watches in addition to Apple Watch. If you own both or plan to switch devices, Livity can work with either ecosystem.

Circadian Rhythm & Body Battery (Livity only)

Livity tracks your circadian rhythm patterns and provides a Body Battery energy score throughout the day. It also includes guided breathing exercises for stress management.

    Community Roadmap (Livity only)

Livity has a public roadmap where users can vote on upcoming features, giving you direct influence over the app's development direction.
